NABIA

New Approach to Biorremediation using Algae

Our Objective

Circular Economy as the base of the project

Microalgae are exciting organisms when it comes to wastewater treatment, their capacity for biorremediation in addition to conventional treatments, allows to obtain much cleaner water. The NABIA Project aims to valorize the biomass obtained from wastewater treatment by developing green and sustainable products, in a circular economy model.

What do we develop

Green transition to meet sustainable objectives

The NABIA project, commited to the sustainable development goals promoted by the United Nations, develops alternatives to our everyday products and materials in an environmentally friendly and green manner. From the biomass generated by wastewater treatment, it is possible to extract microalgal lipids in order to develop innovative ecological products.

Nabia, originally from Galician-Lusitanian mythology, was the goddess of nature, water e renewal

About the Project:

The NABIA project addresses the need to obtain a solution for the treatment of emerging pollutants, proposing the decontamination of wastewater using microalgae, using an approach based on the formation of biomass, and its respective economic valorization.

NABIA aims to study obtaining value-added products that can attract investment and therefore accelerate the development of microalgae technology.
